Panoramic Picture

In this assignment, we took three separate pictures. Each picture had a ten percent overlap, so we could come into lab and combine them. We had to use a tripod to be sure that the pictures all had the same line across, and the manual setting to be sure that the lighting stayed the same. In lab, we used gimp to combine all three pictures into one image. We used different layers and the erase tool to make a seamless picture.

Event... the Pumpkin Patch

This past weekend, I went to Jenny's Farm Stand with my family. I took many pictures around of the nature and events that were happening at the pumpkin patch, and I really thought many of the pictures told our story of what we did there. There were many fun activities such as hayrides, pony rides, a corn maze, and of course pumpkins to pick! I choose my final picture because the picture really demonstrated to the beauty of the pumpkin patch.

Best Picture:

Gimp Assignment 2

Today we used the GIMP program to edit a photo taken of a car. We messed with many of the different functions such as: editing certain spots out with a clone tool, darken specific parts of the car, and darkening the background. The final product looked much more professional.

Macro

For this assignment, the object was to really zoom in on the subject to get a very close up picture. I used the manua lsetting on the camera so I was constantly changing the shutter speed and aperture to make sure that just the right amount of light was being let in. I also used the macro setting so that when I took the close up, the details really popped out. I took some pictures of nature, and some other accessories I found around my house. Many of the flowers and leaves were found in my neighborhood, but I really loved the bright colors, which is why I really focused on that.

Best Picture-
ISO: 80
Shutter Speed: 1/125
Aperture: f/3.2

Motion

In this assignment, we learned how to use panning to capture a motion blur. We had to have a continuous motion of the camera that was the same speed as the bike so that the bike would be in full focus while the background was blurry.

Nature and Landscape

For this assignment, the goal was to capture different images of the nature around us. I took a few pictures at a soccer complex in Dearborn, and the rest of the images around downtown Saline. Some of the pictures were taken around the lake to represent the beautiful sunsets. I really wanted to emphasize the vibrant colors of the leaves changing. Many of the pictures are with trees that are green and orange or red to really show a sharp contrast.

Best Picture Information:
ISO- 100
Shutter Speed- 1/500
F stop- f/2.8

I really enjoyed getting out around Saline to take these pictures. It was the perfect time for nature because there were so many bright colors at this time of year!

Andy Warhol Effect

For this assignment we got to use GIMP for the first time. We followed step-by-step instructions on how to create the Andy Warhol effect with 4 different colors. To start off, we changed the image enhancement and made the picture black and white. We then pasted the picture four times and changed all of the colors!
